Emilia Tamburri

EMILIA TAMBURRI is a composer and music educator specializing in composition, music theory, ear training, and orchestration. Emilia’s music has been performed worldwide, including at Lincoln Center, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Montclair State University, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Tanglewood Music Center, and Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany, and she has collaborated with The Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra, Grace Church Choir, One World Symphony, Boulanger Initiative, Brooklyn Chamber Players, and The New York Choral Consortium, among others.

In 2025, Emilia was selected as a finalist for The American Prize for "Three Meditations" and, in 2023, was recognized as a semi-finalist for “The New York Suite.” She was a composition fellow at Arts Letters and Numbers, Bowdoin International Music Festival, FUBIS, and Boston University Tanglewood Institute. She holds degrees from New England Conservatory (BM) and Juilliard (MM), where she was supported by the Irene Diamond Fellowship. Her primary teachers include Samuel Adler, Lee Hyla, and Robert Aldridge.
