Alon Nechushtan

Composer and pianist Alon Nechushtan has written for ensembles and orchestras worldwide, including The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (Philippines), The Tel Aviv Soloist Orchestra, Music Nova Consort, and The Contemporary Israeli String Quartet (Israel). He has also composed for The New England Conservatory Orchestra, The New England Big Band directed by Bob Brookmeyer, The MIT Festival Orchestra directed by Fred Harris, and the BMI Orchestra directed by Jim McNeily (U.S.). His work has been performed by The Yokohama Festival Orchestra (Japan) and The Savassi Festival Ensemble (Brazil). As an active performer, he has performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center, as well as at festivals around the world, including the Sao Paolo Jewish Festival and the Shanghai Jazz Festival. Alon has released 10 CDs of original music under his own name on various international labels, including Tzadik, Buckyball (U.S.), Creative Sources (Portugal), Between the Lines, Challenge (Netherlands), MGN, Enja (Germany), Future Classics (Netherlands), and Ayler (Sweden).
