Tuesday, November 27, 2018 12:27 PM

riverthatflowsbothways, a collaborative installation by artist Ellen Kozak and composer Scott D. Miller, will be exhibited at Wald and Kim Gallery in Soho, as part of Turbulence, a show of recent work by 8 artists. The exhibition runs from November 15 to January 31, 2019. Opening reception: Thursday, November 29, 6 – 8 PM. RSVP for reception: rsvp@waldandkimgallery.org

Inspired by the Lenape word for the Hudson River, riverthatflowsbothways consists of 3 video channels and 1 audio channel. All of the channels are subtly looped and of slightly different durations. The result is an immersive, continually evolving experience where the exact sequence will not repeat over the course of this exhibition. Miller's recorded score for string quintet is conducted by Carl Bettendorf.

riverthatflowsbothways has been exhibited at La Nuit d’Instant (Marseilles), Microscope Gallery (Bushwick), The Hudson River Museum (Yonkers), the Samuel Dorsky Museum (SUNY New Paltz) and at 10 ans de créations au Moulin a Nef (Auvillar, France).
